ECI Construction Internship Program
The ECI Construction Internship Program offers students hands-on, real-world experience that goes far beyond the classroom. It’s a chance to work alongside industry professionals, contribute to active projects, and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to build with purpose, collaboration, and integrity.
At ECI, we believe the best learning happens through doing. This is especially true when you’re surrounded by a team that’s committed to your growth. This construction management internship program represents more than just a new opportunity; it’s a meaningful step toward cultivating the next generation of builders through integrity, collaboration, and purpose.

An Opportunity to Learn by Doing
Open to junior and senior students in construction management or construction science programs, the ECI internship is a summer-only opportunity designed to immerse participants in the day-to-day operations of commercial construction projects across Austin, TX.
From reviewing submittals and RFIs to observing job site logistics and supporting project schedules, interns will shadow and collaborate with seasoned project managers and superintendents. It’s not about standing back—it’s about stepping in and contributing to real progress on real job sites.
Explore a Range of Projects, Expand Your Perspective
ECI’s project portfolio is as diverse as the people who power it. During the summer, interns will gain insight into a variety of commercial construction types: restaurant spaces, renovations, and even ground-up developments. Every assignment brings a new lesson, a new challenge, and a new opportunity to grow.
Culture Matters, and Ours Builds You Up
We take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. From BBQs in the parking lot to team community service events, ECI fosters an environment that balances hard work with human connection. Interns will be welcomed as full members of the team, with space to ask questions, offer ideas, and enjoy the ride.
Meet the 2025 Interns
This summer, we’re proud to welcome three students to ECI. They’re bringing fresh perspectives, curiosity, and energy into the field, and we’re excited to watch them help shape the future of our internship program.
Kyain Za Wong
Texas State University Class of 2026
Master of Science in Construction Management
When Kyain Za Wong met ECI at a university career fair, she was immediately drawn to the company’s strong reputation and depth of experience. “ECI was a great place for me to learn new things and use the skills I already had,” she shared. “They care about quality work, building connections with clients, and having a lot of expert knowledge.”
As a field intern, Wong’s day begins with a safety JHA, project and manpower updates, and preparation for incoming subcontractors. She works closely with her superintendent, coordinates with vendors, documents jobsite progress in Procore, and participates in team meetings to help keep the project on track. “I’ve been able to see the project progress and help it run smoothly. That’s been really rewarding.”

She’s learned firsthand how dynamic and fast-paced commercial construction can be. “Every day brings new issues, and I’ve realized how important on-site collaboration and communication are.” Wong is especially appreciative of the mentorship she’s received on-site. “My superintendent has taught me about the challenges of commercial construction, and I’m enthusiastic to implement that knowledge in the future.”
Anna Currie
University of Texas at Austin Class of 2026
Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering
Anna Currie first learned about ECI through a family friend, but what truly caught her attention were the company’s core values. One value in particular stood out: Solve. “I think it’s important that companies in the construction industry have a thinking-forward mindset,” she explained. “ECI seemed to, and has since proven to, fit that bill.”
Now in the thick of her internship, Anna is gaining hands-on experience with the inner workings of a live project site. Her days include reviewing documentation, capturing photos to track site progress, and keeping communication flowing with subcontractors. “A typical day on the job involves reading over documents, taking pictures of the site’s progress, and communicating with the subcontractors whenever it’s needed,” she said.

So far, the most rewarding part of her internship has been seeing just how strategic and layered project scheduling can be. “I’ve learned how in-depth scheduling really is and how important it is to overall project success,” she noted.
Anna brings a strong sense of curiosity to everything she does. “There hasn’t been a day I haven’t learned something new,” she said. “I’m excited to see what else I’ll learn during my time at ECI.”
Srijita Das Sriya
Texas State University Class of 2025
Master of Science in Construction Management
Srijita Das Sriya first discovered ECI through her university’s internship listings. What drew her in was the company’s clear commitment to innovation, collaboration, and real-world learning. “ECI’s strong focus on innovation, its supportive team culture, and the opportunity to work on real-world projects really appealed to me,” she said.
Each day begins with a morning huddle to align on goals and updates. From there, Sriya dives into a variety of tasks, from reviewing project documents and tracking progress to updating logs and helping facilitate communication between subcontractors and the internal team. “Every day brings something new,” she explained. “I’m learning a lot by being involved in different aspects of project coordination.”

What’s stood out most is the opportunity to put her education into practice. “The most rewarding part has been applying what I’ve learned in the classroom to actual projects,” Sriya said. “I’m especially grateful for the mentorship I’ve received—everyone is so open to questions and eager to help me grow professionally.”
The inclusive environment has made a lasting impact. “It’s empowering to be trusted with responsibilities early on and to feel like a valued part of the team. This experience is giving me great confidence in my future career in the construction industry.”
